I think the computer is finally fixed – yay! It passed all the scans and so far *knock wood* has not frozen up. I finally had to use the check disk repair to fix the bad sectors left over from the malware debacle. Hubby has been warned against ever installing anything again, which he’s crabby about and I’m sure he’ll ignore, but more importantly I am back in business, laptop wise.

I’ve spent the last couple of days in Little House on the Prairie land. I sewed at a set of curtains (they are not done as the sewing machine bobbin went *kersnap* and so needs glued back on – this is a reoccurring issue), made drop donuts, painted a birdhouse and otherwise did laundry and cleaned. I feel very domestic. It’s scary.

Anyway, today’s dress is for Katelina  (You can get her here). I have lost the pin number as I actually drew this a couple days ago because I was hoping to get it colored and uploaded despite the mess.

This could also have come from Jesslynn. It’s too modest for Torina, that’s for sure.

All right, I have lots to work on, so have to go. Have a good day, all!

PS. On a funny note, WordPress has the “recommendations” box on the lower left that shows you related articles and CC media that “has to do with” your blog post so that you can insert relevant photos and such. Anyway, the top suggested media images are all my own – ha ha! It’s Jorick, Katelina and my Super Poke Pet dressed up as Jorick. Sorry, I just thought that was funny.

I am super late because someone (hubby*cough*cough*) got a bunch of malware on my laptop and I have spent HOURS just trying to get this done around the crashes, restarts, freezes and more. So no chatting, which is sad as I had a photo of the patio set.

Trying again. Maybe it won’t freeze this time.

Important stuff, today’s dress is for Ethne  (You can get her here). It’s actually a cosplay photo, but what the heck.

Pretty cool, huh? I did make a few minor changes, but I can’t help it.

Gonna go before this thing dies again. Ciao.

Hubby is off today, so I am running very late. Today’s baking experiment was chocolate chunk brownies, though instead of chunks we used milk chocolate chips (because I had a bag in the cupboard) and they turned out okay. Think they could have cooked a little less, though, but otherwise all was good.

the big news around here is we got a new patio set (yay!) today. I took pics but haven’t taken them off or uploaded them yet (Flickr was down all day for maintenance anyway). The patio looks much nicer now without the clunky, fifteen year old plastic table. Though my table umbrella is broke, so we need to get a piece of aluminum and hubby thinks he can fix it. We also need an umbrella base with this table, and then I will finally have my umbrella and table set up I have been waiting years for. Double yay! Why an umbrella? I don’t know. Probably a product of 80s television, but if you have a patio I think you need an umbrella’d table.

Anyway, today’s dress is for Katelina again (You can get her here). i know, I know, Thane needs some clothes, but this dress was so cool!

The engravings on the bottom of the dress came from wiki commons here, here and here. I put them on their own layer, used a “darken” layer style and then colorized them red. Took a bit to figure out but the end result was pretty snazzy, I thought.

On that note, I am outta here. Have a good one!

Not much going on in the fascinating world of Bolivar. The other night hubby and I were walking the dog when all of a sudden there was a bright blue light in the sky and this loud, electric kind of “whuuumm” noise. Then another brighter flash of light, and the noise again. Given the area, we decided it was aliens and chose not to investigate until we got close to home when we heard a bunch of sirens. Of course, now we had to know what it was (as if police cars might save us from aliens), so he grabbed the scanner while I threw the dog in the house. Turned out an electric pole on the edge of town (quite a way away from us) shorted out and caught fire. We drove by and could see the pole burning from the highway (no pics, didn’t think to grab the camera). All the streetlights and stop lights  were out, so they had to get the fire and police to do traffic control at all the major intersections… anyway, it was interesting.

The neighbors are outside breaking things. I mean that literally. They have been at it for days. Earlier they were smashing apart an old stereo. I have no idea, and I don’t want to know.

Onwards, today’s dress is for Katelina (You can get her here).

The pattern doesn’t match the pin, as you’ll notice, but I liked it anyway. I used a CC pattern by Uhuru1701 on Flickr, changed the color to blue and of course attempted the mirroring portion. As I said, it’s not the same as it would be if I had hand drawn the pattern, but I am in a bit of a hurry as I am running behind.

On that note, I am outta here. Have a good one!

I missed yesterday. Again.  It was hubby’s day off and we went to see Despicable Me 2 – which was quite cute – and then played Cranium with the house mates. As to the movie, I liked it better than Despicable me 1 which, don’t get me wrong, was cute, but just not as cute as Mega Mind, which came out around the same time and sadly I liked better. Despicable Me 2 has no such competition and a lot more Minion action – the minions are adorable – so what’s not to like? We had a bit of a time finding it in 3-d still, but luckily they Springfield 11 still had it. It’s a nice theater (we went there fir Titanic 3-D IMAX the April before last), and it is getting some nice, cushy leather seats, soon, which may make it our more preferred theater over the Campbell 16 where we normally go.

Yeah, we sometimes blow a lot of money on the movies, but someone has to if we expect them to keep making the things 😉 There were only about twelve other people there with us, so see? Our going is important, LOL!

Moving on, today’s dress is for Ethne  (You can get her here). The pin was just a coat, but it was so pretty I had to do something with it.

There’s a bit of lace texture in the coat; it’s actually a pattern that I then duplicated, colorized, and used a blend ode on, then colorized again… anyway it worked.

Not much else right now. I feel like crud, so posting this and back to work. Have a good one.

Bet you thought I was going to miss today, but ha! I made it.

Today’s culinary experiment was raspberry dark chocolate banana bread – and it came out beautifully. I took photos, but haven’t taken them off yet. Kind of pointless to mention it except that I will soon torture people with photos on my personal blog. I am determined to take some time off to do some blogging or else.

Other than that I worked on book covers and searched for paint shop pro preset shapes I could download. I was so upset because I found some amazing shapes, only they are no longer available – or the links no longer work, anyway. I left a comment on the blog, but I doubt she’ll answer me as she hasn’t posted there since 2011. 😦

The landlord was here today and mowed since Beau has not done it (no idea what is going on there) and he also dealt with the trash pile – ah, a fun story. We share the dumpster with Beau and Co. next door. Every week the thing is crammed FULL with all different kinds of garbage bags; white, black, clear, self tie, twist tied, etc. Either Beau and Co. have a lot of different types of garbage bags, or they’re letting their friends throw their trash in there too. Anyway, so last week the dumpster was so full that they stacked trash all around it, too, because there was no more room for it to go. Tuesday day came and the garbage  guy dumped the dumpster but left all the trash on the ground. Did Beau and Co. throw the trash in the now empty dumpster? Nope. So finally yesterday the smell – which is quite pungent and blows in my windows and across my patio – got to be too much, so I decided I’s do it – only the dumpster is FULL – already, even though as of yesterday it was three days until garbage day. Not only did this leave a gross smelly mess, but it leaves us with nowhere to throw our garbage, either. We’ve been discussing paying the garbage company to haul our bags off this week because there’s no where to put them. Anyway, so now the mess is gone and the dumpster is empty. I don’t want to complain about Beau and Co. coz they seem like nice people and all, but this is getting a bit old as they fill it up every week.

Okay, enough about trash. Today’s outfit is for Jo, as I mentioned  (You can get her here).

I like this one. The denim texture is the same one I have been using by D Sharon Pruit.

Okay, have to take the dog for a walk, so ciao!

I missed yesterday. Actually, I drew this dress yesterday, but didn’t get a chance to scan it or color it. We went to Springfield and did grocery shopping instead, then when i got home it was house cleaning day and by then hubby was home, so that was the end of that.

Speaking of hubby, the smoker we won from the Mt. Dew/Pepsi Iconic Summer arrived. I was expecting some tiny little thing with Mountain Dew’s logo plastered all over it – but it’s HUGE and only has Mt. dew written on the handle. So we got a chunk of beef and hubby smoked it. We made it into sandwiches last night and it was quite good. He’s feeling very proud. My sweet rolls, on the other hand, were not as much of a success. The frozen/fresh did not make much of a difference once it was baked, but this oven cooks funny and half of the pan was still doughy. I stuck them back in and now they’re too brown and STILL a bit doughy. Obviously the oven cooks hot, I just need to figure out HOW hot. *sigh*.

I could go on with tales of the vampire neighbors, but we’ll call it good. Today’s dress is for Ethne  (You can get her here).

I’d show you the pin BUT… Okay, i found it yesterday before we went shopping. When I came home I stupidly hit refresh and got the “we can’t find this pin” page instead, so I drew it from memory. Needless to say my memory was off, I’m sure, and then I got creative and added some sparkles.

I like the results, anyway.

It’s thundering so better walk the dog and then it’s lunch time. Have a good one!
