Ethne Touch Ups

24 May

After Cherry, I decided to change Ethne into colored outlines as well. This wasn’t super hard because I had all the layer files, but it was slightly time consuming.

Anyway, here she is now:

Dress 97 & a new doll!

18 May

I mentioned somewhere that I made a new doll in January, so I decided it was time to share her:

Cherry Paper Doll by Joleene Naylor

As you can see she’s more traditional – aka the colored outlines instead of the black ones. I’ve actually thought about backtracking and redoing all y dolls that way (color replace) but I dunno. I’m pretty lazy.

And what’s a new doll without a new dress? So here is Dress 97!

As you can see, it’s made for Cherry.

And here is the pin it’s based on.

I’m reasonably happy with it. What do you think?

And now I better get something useful done!

The jammie party rolls on!

Tonight it’s Katelina’s relaxin’ ’round the house pajamas! (You can get her here).

There is not a real pin for this one, I made it up based on a bunch of different pajama sets…

I thought it came out pretty cute, and the checkers are flowing in the right shape, so I was proud of that.

Not much to report. I got the dresser painted today but I may post that on my personal blog tomorrow, so in the mean time Happy Paper dolling!

The jammy party continues (as does the facebook party – if you’re on facebook check it out. There are a LOT of giveaways going on!

Today’s jammies are for Verchiel.  (You can get him here).

Here’s the pin it’s based on.

Yes, this is a housecoat from the fifties or so, but since Verchiel is immortal why wouldn;t he have it laying around still?

And now I have to get back to the party! Happy Paper Dolling!

The pajama party continues!

Today it is Jo’s turn.  (You can get her here).

Here’s the pin it’s based on.

Thane’s previous jammies were pretty comfy looking, with a cup of coffee, so Jo wanted some jammies to lounge in and a couple of books to read. Of course, why shouldn’t she read a certain vampire series? *cough*cough* (plus I had the front and back cover files, so that made it easier). Sp, while Thane drinks coffee, she can read her books, and steal sips.

And so I leave you. Happy Paper dolling!

I had a busy weekend, but I am alive and I have a “dress” for you today. I say “dress” because it’s Verchiel again. (You can get him here).

Here’s the pin it’s based on.

Yes, it’s a pair of jammy pants, because everyone needs jammies, which leads me to my next several “themed outfits.” When I was a kid it used to annoy me that dolls didn’t have coats, or swimsuits or pajamas. And it seems I have done the same thing – Thane is the only one with jammies. To correct this, everyone is going to get a set of pajamas (or two), so get ready for a paper doll pajama party! (As you can see, Verchiel has his pillow ready!)

And with that I leave you. Enjoy some jammy time and happy paper dolling!

Dress 77

24 Sep

I spent ALLLLLL friggin’ day today working on formatting the Ink Slingers’ Halloween Anthology – well, all day that I was at the computer. There were a lot of interruptions. The basement flooded (it’s only about a quarter to a half inch and only in the first room, but it begs the question: Where did the water come from?), then I had to help hubby go to Red Oak to fetch some crates (His workplace gives them away regularly and he wanted to grab them before they got wet.) Then we stopped at Stanton’s compost yard to look for cement blocks, but when we went to go to Villisca’s it was all under water.  mean seriously flooded. After the rain today it’s no wonder.

I could go on, but you don’t care. So…

Anyway, today’s dress is not a dress – it’s a coat and it’s for Katelina  (You can get her here).

Here’s the pin it’s based on.

(She’s wearing outfit 75 under that)

When I was a kid, a lack of coats for dolls was always something that bugged me. And a lack of pajamas and swim suits. How could they go to the beach – an important pastime in the 80s – without a swim suit? And how could they get ready for bed without pajamas? And how in the world could they go out in the cold without a coat? Luckily my very cool mom taught me how to make coats that could go over their clothes (If you leave the coat open but stretch the collar so it goes straight behind the neck you can hang it over them). No, this is not one of those because the design didn’t lend itself to it. Maybe I’ll do one for someone later.

My mother was very cool when it came to artsy things – drawing, painting, writing. She taught me how to do a lot of things, like ruffles, for instance, or the above mentioned coats, or that if you use plastic wrap or cellophane you can actually make see-through paper doll clothes. (this would not work with a print out, needless to say).

Anyway, it’s late and I’m behind, so I am outta here.

Happy Paper dolling!

P.S. A new doll may be in the future – can you guess who it is?
